Christopher Briscoe is a photojournalist and author based in Ashland, Oregon. He has made multiple journeys into Ukraine since the Russian invasion, documenting civilians, volunteers, and defenders living under occupation and bombardment. His books combine photography and firsthand narrative to record what war does to ordinary people -- and what ordinary people do in spite of it.

Earlier work has taken him to New Orleans, Cambodia, the Horn of Africa, and Death Row. Nearly four decades in the field.

He works close. He stays long. He brings back what the headlines miss.
